The Northern Arizona Blues Alliance, with support from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Red Rockin Blues Festival, on Saturday, October 10, from noon-5PM, at the
Sedona Posse Grounds Amphitheater. This year's fest brings in both local and regional Arizona talent consisting of 6 vocalists, and 6 backline support artists, of which almost all have been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame® (Arizona). The Blues Hall of Fame® organization boasts over 1200 inductees from all over the country and multiple foreign countries, making these artists appear all in one event, pretty special.
The Sedona Posse Grounds Amphitheater, is an outdoor venue which accommodates around 200, with a comfortable grass area and great views of the red rocks. Please bring your folding chairs, drink coolers (no alcohol please), and food, sunblock, and whatever makes you happy, and you'll be enjoying a wonderful show in a spectacular setting. Well behaved pets on leashes are welcome as are service animals. We do ask that no tents or pop-ups be brought to the event as they obscure line of sight.
Opening the show is Geneviene Castorena, (better known as Gypsy), who is a longtime Blues fixture in the Phoenix area. You'll hear some great harmonica and vocals, along with her entertaining presentation of traditional Blues tunes. Backing her on guitar is none other than Big Daddy D, Darryl Porras, up from Phoenix! Also coming up from Phoenix is Dr. Uvon Brooks who is more than just a Blues singer. She is a Blues educator and her knowledge and performing history has long and deep roots in the Phoenix area and beyond. Accompanying her from Phoenix is Ray Hinkle on bass, along with Dr. Bob Sellani from Sedona on drums and Rick Mutter on the keys who is from the Seattle area, and makes the Valley his home part time. Next up, from Prescott, you'll hear Elvin Killerbee on guitar and vocals. For this Louisiana native, you'll have to do some alphabet reshuffling to figure out his real name, but his guitar talent and vocals are undeniable. Holding down the backline for Elvin is Dr. Bob Sellani, Rick Mutter, and on bass, from Cave Creek is Scott Jeffy! Following Elvin, is multi-instrumentalist Garry Segal, who resides in Cottonwood, by way of Connecticut. Whether he plays guitar, slide, harp, or just sings, you'll hear a quality that is consistent with his long resume, stretching from the East coast to Arizona. Supporting Garry behind the stage front is Big Daddy D, Darryl Porras, Dr. Bob Sellani, Rick Mutter, and Scott Jeffy. Following Garry is the front line of Big Daddy D and the Dynamites, Darryl Porras and Betty Jo Vachon. Whether it's fiery guitar licks from Darryl, or a sultry rendition of one of Betty Jo's own tunes, the delivery, energy and connection these two make with the crowd is undeniable. Supporting Betty Jo and Darryl are the regular band members of the group, consisting of Dr. Bob Sellani, Rick Mutter, and Scott Jeffy. Following these two from Phoenix, on guitar and vocals, and from Phoenix, is Tommy Grills, whose roots are East Coast, but his style is all Chicago! You'll hear some blistering guitar solos from this exceptional artist, who has a special connection with renowned Blues artist, Kenny Neal and his family. Tommy, will be backed up by Dr. Bob Sellani, Rick Mutter, and Scott Jeffy for some special Chicago style sounds! Closing out the show is Sedona's own Renee Rice, on vocals, where you'll hear both modern and traditional Blues tunes that provide for some great listening, as she works the crowd with her magic! She is loved by her local followers and for darn good reason and is backed by Tommy Grills, Dr. Bob Sellani, Rick Mutter, and Scott Jeffy.

The Northern Arizona Blues Alliance (NAZBA) is proud to partner with the Elks Theatre Crystal Room, presenting the “Ladies Sing the Blues”, on November 14, starting 7PM, featuring three outstanding Blues singers, all with very accomplished Blues backgrounds.
Opening the show is Chicago-born vocalist Carla Denise Ramsey, who commands the stage with powerhouse vocals, infectious energy, and a sound steeped in Blues, Soul, R&B, and Jazz. From Chicago blues stages to international festivals across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Europe, Carla Denise has built a reputation for performances that don’t just entertain—they connect. She has shared stages with legendary artists including Otis Clay and Delbert McClinton and has performed alongside acclaimed blues artists including Bob Corritore, Jimi “Primetime” Smith, and Mississippi Heat.
Her recording work with Bob Corritore includes Doin’ the Shout! And Ernestine Blues, while her growing presence in the blues world earned her a feature—and her name on the cover—of the July/August 2026 issue of Living Blues Magazine.Whether delivering a gritty Chicago blues number, a soul-drenched ballad, or an electrifying crowd favorite, Carla Denise brings the kind of voice, presence, and personality audiences remember.
Next up is Betty Jo Vachon, delivering Blues to the audience with power and finesse like no other. She is a charismatic vocalist hailed by fans as a "Passionate…Powerful… and Soulful vocalist that connects with people." Betty Jo takes her Chicago roots music and mixes it with Blues and Motown to give soulful and engaging shows. She brought her music to Arizona in 2009, joining The BluesHounds as the lead vocalist, participating in shows all over Phoenix including The Phoenix Blues Society Blues Showdown in 2010 and 2012 as well as performing at hot spots including The Rhythm Room. In 2025, she was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame® (Arizona). Currently, she is collaborating with Big Daddy D & The Dynamites joining them on gigs all over the Phoenix area. Betty Jo also spends time writing and recording her original music with her sites on releasing a single sometime this year.
Closing the show is Sedona's own renowned singer, Renee Rice, continues to wow audiences with her vocal talent and stage presence, with a wide selection of songs, ranging from jazz standards to contemporary Pop, Blues, and R&B. She has performed with many great artists such as, Ray Charles, The Temptations, Sheila E. and Aretha Franklin and was honored to sing the national anthem for the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and the Arizona Rattlers. Renee is classically trained and attended college with a full music scholarship at Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Sterling Heights, Michigan where she had the honor to perform for former President Ronald Reagan. She performs regularly in Phoenix at select venues during the year and received standing ovations at the Greater Prescott Valley Blues Festival in 2021 and Elks Theater Performance in 2022. Renee has been a semi finalist at the 2017 Memphis International Blues Competition (IBC) and was a 2025 Blues Hall of Fame® (Arizona) Inductee.
Backing up these great singers is a stellar band consisting of Big Daddy D, Darryl Porras on Guitar, 2022 Memphis IBC Finalist Runner Up, 2025 Blues Hall of Fame® (Arizona) Inductee, and 2026 Arizona Blues Hall of Fame Inductee. On drums is the Northern Arizona Blues Alliance Founder and current President, Dr. Bob Sellani is a 2017 Memphis IBC Semifinalist and a 2019 Blues Hall of Fame® (Arizona) Inductee. On keys, is Rick Mutter, a 2022 Memphis IBC Finalist Runner Up, 2026 Blues Hall of Fame® (Arizona) Inductee and member of Big Daddy D and the Dynamites. Rounding out the back-line on bass is Roger Smith, a talented bassist, and 2024 Arizona Blues Hall of Fame Inductee.
